Non-Binary

Identities outside the man/woman binary. Both, neither, in between, or something else entirely.

Abinary

Non-binary with no thread back to man or woman: a gender that isn't on that line at all.

Ambigender

Experiencing two genders simultaneously with equal intensity—distinct from bigender in the simultaneous aspect.

Ambonec

Identifying as both masculine and feminine at the same time, yet also as neither.

Androgyne

A gender identity that is simultaneously masculine and feminine, or between masculine and feminine.

Aporagender

A distinct gender separate from male, female, and anything in between—not neutral or agender, but its own thing.

Axigender

Two genders on one axis, one of them always agender, experienced one at a time with no overlap.

Bigender

Experiencing two distinct genders, either simultaneously or alternating between them. Both identities are equally valid.

Boi

A gender expression or identity associated with youthful masculinity, often within queer communities.

Butch

A gender identity and/or expression characterized by masculinity. Often associated with lesbian culture but not exclusively.

Egogender

A gender describable only as oneself, with no external reference.

Epicene

Either lacking characteristics of either binary gender or having a combination that cancels out to neutral.

Femme

A gender identity and/or expression characterized by femininity. Often associated with queer culture.

Femme nonbinary

A non-binary person whose gender leans feminine, or is femme itself, held without womanhood.

Genderpunk

A radical, subversive approach to gender that intentionally breaks rules and expectations.

Genderqueer

A gender identity that challenges and transcends conventional categories. Often politically aware and intentionally subversive.

Intergender

A gender identity between male and female. Some consider this term specific to intersex individuals.

Juxera

A gender similar to or near femininity, but not feminine itself. Close to but distinct from female.

Maverique

A specific non-binary gender characterized by autonomy and inner conviction about one's gender identity.

Maxigender

Identifying with all the genders culturally available to you; pangender with the limit stated up front.

Multigender

An umbrella and an identity for having two or more genders, at the same time or in turn.

Non-Binary

An umbrella term for gender identities outside the male/female binary. May feel like both, neither, or something else entirely.

Novigender

A gender too complex and unique to fit into any existing categories. A truly individual experience.

Omnigender

Experiencing all genders, similar to pangender but with a different nuance—all genders at once.

Pangender

Identifying with a vast multitude of genders, potentially all genders. A sense of infinite gender expression.

Polygender

Experiencing multiple genders, more than two but not necessarily all. Each gender may be experienced to varying degrees.

Proxvir

A gender similar to or near masculinity, but not masculine itself. Close to but distinct from male.

Trigender

Experiencing three distinct genders, which may include male, female, and a third gender, or three non-binary genders.

Unbinary

An antigender of the binary itself: a gender that is the opposite of man and woman as a pair, rather than simply something other than them.
