What agenderfaun means.
Two words stacked. Genderfaun means your gender moves and never lands on feminine. Agender means there is no gender there. Agenderfaun is the overlap: fluid, never a woman, and with nothing-at-all as the ground you keep standing on. Some days a man. Some days something sideways with no name. Most days, or every day underneath, nothing.
The wiki record lists four readings and people use all of them: being both genderfaun and agender; being genderfaun and almost always agender to some degree; being genderfaun and currently parked at agender; or being libragender — mostly agender, with a small thread — where that thread moves the faun way. Nobody adjudicates. If one of those is yours, that is the definition.
Straight with you about the word. It is tiny. The LGBTQIA+ Wiki records it as coined on Tumblr in November 2020, with a flag made the same day. There is no research, no history to speak of, and no numbers. The experience is not new. The word is.

Agenderfaun was coined on Tumblr in November 2020, attributed by the LGBTQIA+ Wiki to the same neopronouns account responsible for its sibling term agenderfae, made as the mirror-image word: fluid but never feminine, against agenderfae's fluid-but-never-masculine. Both drew directly on genderfaun (coined 2014, a variant of genderfluid barred from the feminine) and on agender, combined to describe someone who is fluid within that closed range and also usually agender.

None of these is a test. Most people recognise a few and shrug at the rest.
Asked what your gender is, the honest answer most days is "nothing", and on the other days it is "something, but not that".
You read the agender page and nodded through all of it, then hit the line about it being steady and thought: mostly.

There is no agenderfaun pronoun. They/them and it/its are common because they say nothing. He/him turns up on the man days and often stays out of convenience. She/her is usually out, the way it is for genderfaun — if it fits you on any day, read genderfae or genderfluid instead.

Is agenderfaun just agender plus genderfaun?+
More or less, yes, and the people using it say so. It exists so you do not have to explain twice: once that you are mostly nothing, and again that when something shows up it is never a woman. Everyone who is agenderfaun could truthfully say non-binary, or agender, or genderfluid. The narrower word saves a paragraph.
How is agenderfaun different from agenderflux?+
Flux is about volume: nothing, then a bit of something, then nothing. Faun is about direction: whatever arrives, it is never feminine. Some people are both at once. If your louder days have no particular gender to them, flux is the better fit; if they are recognisably boy, or sideways-but-not-girl, this word is doing extra work for you.
Is agenderfaun a real identity?+
It is a small, recent word from online communities, with a wiki entry, a flag and no research behind it. That is honestly where it stands. Whether the experience it points at is real for you is a separate question, and you are the only one who can answer it.
