Girlfluid is genderfluid with one door shut. The gender moves — female some stretches, neutral or androgynous others, sometimes nothing at all — but it never lands on male. The LGBTQIA+ Wiki entry says the changes can be random or tied to circumstances, at different intensities, and that the range never encompasses male genders.
The anchor is girlhood, not femininity. That is the distinction the wiki draws from its neighbours: girlflux and genderfaer sit so close that people use them interchangeably, but girlfluid ties you less to feminine and more to the word girl, or female, itself. You can be a girl in a boiler suit. The girl is the fixed point, not the look. The wiki names boyfluid as the male counterpart, and lists womanfluid, fluid female and genderfluid girl as the same word in other clothes.
What it is not: girlflux, where a female gender stays put and only its intensity changes. Girlfluid changes gender — into neutral, androgynous or none — and comes back to girl. It is not quite genderfaer either, though the overlap is real: genderfaer fences off "entirely a man" and allows masculine stops; girlfluid does not go masculine at all. Girlfluid was coined in October 2021 by a user on the FANDOM wiki platform, according to the LGBTQIA+ Wiki, which marks the page for the male counterpart, boyfluid, as unverified by its own staff — a reminder that this whole small cluster of terms rests on thin, largely self-reported sourcing.
It was built as a female-anchored counterpart to genderfluid and a closer relative of genderfaer and girlflux, narrowing genderfluid's full range down to female, neutral, androgynous and genderless states while ruling out male ones, in the same way genderfaer rules out being entirely a binary man.

What's the difference between girlfluid and girlflux?+
Girlflux fades one gender in and out; girlfluid swaps between several. On a girlflux quiet day you are a dimmer girl. On a girlfluid quiet day you are neutral, or androgynous, or nothing, and the girl comes back later. The LGBTQIA+ Wiki says people use them interchangeably, so if both fit, pick the one that is easier to explain.
Is girlfluid a kind of non-binary?+
Usually, in the sense that some of your stops are not girl. Some girlfluid people call themselves non-binary; some call themselves girls with a range; some say both, depending on the week.
What do I tell people about pronouns?+
Give them something they can act on. She/they lets people use either without checking the calendar. If you switch, tell the two or three people who matter and let the rest catch up.
