What cosmicgender means.
Cosmicgender is a xenogender for a gender that is too big to hold in one look. The record's image is the night sky through a telescope: you cannot see all of it at once, but the longer you focus on one part, the more of that part you learn. It may hold any number of smaller genders inside it, and whichever one you are looking at is the one that shows.
That makes it a word about scale and attention rather than about a single texture. Some months you are in one region of it and it looks like a whole gender on its own. Then you move, or something moves you, and a different region is in the eyepiece. None of that is the gender changing. It is you looking at a different part of something that was all there the whole time.
Honesty about the record. The only page describing this word on the wiki this site checks is a stub, flagged for possible deletion for having no history and no sources. Nobody knows who coined it or when. There is no community to report on. If you find this page useful, that is the whole of the evidence, and it is enough for you and for nobody else.

Cosmicgender has no documented coiner or date. The only entry for it on the LGBTQIA+ Wiki is a stub flagged as a candidate for deletion for lacking any sourced history, and no other wiki fetched for this project has a fuller record. It belongs, by theme and design, to the same loose cluster of 2014–2016 Tumblr-coined space and xenogender terms as astralgender and astergender, but unlike those, it has no surviving trace of who introduced it or when.

This might not be your word if…
- 1Non-binary or genderqueer already describes you and the cosmos part is decoration. Decoration is fine; it is not a gender.
- 2You cannot say what any part of it is like. Vast is not a substitute for content. If you look in and find nothing, agender and gendervoid are the honest words.
- 3The whole thing changes station: man for a while, then woman, then nothing. That is genderfluid, and it is next door.
- 4You picked it because it sounds like the biggest word in the room. That wears off, usually within the year.

Is cosmicgender the same as astralgender?+
Close enough that many would not argue. Astralgender is about space as the thing your gender resembles; cosmicgender is about not being able to see all of it at once. If the second sentence made you nod, this is the more precise word.
Is it a real, recognised term?+
Barely, and you should know that. The record on the community wiki is a stub with no history, marked for possible deletion. Nobody has counted its users. That does not make your experience less real; it makes the word a young one with a thin file.
Do I need to know all the parts?+
No. The record's whole point is that you cannot. Knowing the region you are in this month is plenty.
